All the comments have been logged into the regulations.gov website in
regards to the proposal to relax security requirements for foreign workers.
For further background on this, please read the previous newsletters
titled:
2006-10-10 Friday 13th Deadline for DoD comments
2006-10-06 DoD taking public comments
Instructions on how to view the comments are listed below. It's rather
complicated and you have to carefully follow all instructions.
I am very proud that so many of you heeded the call to action. The cheap
labor lobby was caught with their pants down and barely managed to fire off
a few letters at the last moment. We ambushed them when they least expected
it! They felt so much pressure from our barrage they requested and were
granted an extension of the commentary period. I will have more information
on that soon in a subsequent newsletter.
WE HAVE BEEN HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR, AND THE K-STREETERS ARE RATTLED!
There are over 80 comments. The most striking thing you should notice is
that every individual that posted comments was against the changes, while
every proponent of relaxing security for foreign workers were universities.
This is truly a battle between American patriots and the ivory tower
elites.
The only comment from a university that seemed to dissent from the status
quo came from Ohio State University. Every other university wanted changes
made to make it easier to use foreign workers by relaxing security. Many of
them griped that it's impossible to make security badges for foreign
students working on DoD contracts.

Ohio State University
We encourage DOD to reconsider the basic premise that a change
needs to be made to the DFARS at all.
There were many great comments from the public, but this is one of the most
poignant:
My tax dollars fund these opportunities. My country is at risk.
My career is well beyond destroyed. Yet the DoD wants to import
more cheap labor and provide them with the only remaining
opportunities that pay well. Are you more concerned with the cost
of labor? or with National Security? Foreign workers have a
loyalty to their homeland, not the United States. Granting them
access to the secrets of the United States is treasonous.
Providing them with opportunities funded by tax dollars is
treasonous. It is time to stand for American citizens and the
opportunities available to them.
