Friday 13th Deadline for DoD comments

Friday 13th Deadline for DoD comments

Date: Tuesday, October 10, 2006 4:00 PM

<<<<< JOB DESTRUCTION NEWSLETTER No. 1567 -- 10/10/2006 >>>>>

Just a handful of people have submitted comments in regard to the
Department of Defense (DoD) proposal to reduce security regulations for
contractors who use foreign workers. On the bright side, the shills haven't
commented either, but that's because they consider the case to be closed
after their letter writing campaign in 2005.

Government research and development jobs have been considered the last
bastion for American engineers and scientists who wanted a job that
couldn't be threatened by H-1Bs. This is not only a jobs issue - it's to
save our sovereignty and national security. Even if the DoD refuses to
listen to us they must put our comments as part of the public record. My
choice is to go on record to protest this insanity. If you choose the
silence option, please don't complain if you can't get one of those good
government research jobs. You reap what you sow!

If you care to send in comments before the Friday the 13th deadline, this
is how to do it.

1) Go to this page:
http://www.regulations.gov/fdmspublic/component/main

2) Enter "case 2004-D010" without quotes in the search engine.

3) Click the submit button.

4) In the Docket ID column click DARS-2006-0065.

5) Click the "add comments" icon on the right hand side of the page.

6) The easiest way to send them comments is to click the email hyperlink
for dfars@osd.mil. If you use an email client, a new email will pop up with
the correct stuff in the subject heading.

7) There are several other methods listed on how to send in comments. Just
don't use snail mail because it's way too late for that.

8) Please do not CC me on your email. I will read all comments posted on
their website so it's not necessary to send me a copy, and it's probably
bad form to have the CC posted.

9) Remember, all comments will become part of the public record. They will
incorporate them in a new document, and they will answer our questions.
With that in mind, think about what you write. It wouldn't hurt if you
spent some time reading my previous newsletter as well as some of the
comments already submitted.

TO VIEW COMMENTS:

* Click the back button on your browser, or repeat steps 1-4 above. You
will see document IDs. Those are individual comments submitted by the
public.

* To read comments click the icons under the "Views" column.

* My submission is document DARS-2006-0065-0012. Notice that they posted
both a text and a pdf version. I sent the email in HTML format instead of
plain text. Sending an HTML formatted email might be the best way, but you
could also attach a PDF file if you preferred.
