11 PM Lou Dobbs Show eliminated

You may have noticed lately that Lou Dobbs Tonight isn't being rebroadcast at 11 p.m. EST. That's because the president of CNN, Jonathan Klein, eliminated the show from the schedule. Instead we will be treated to two hours of Aaaron Brown and Anderson Cooper as they play games of dare in the next hurricane that comes along.

The 11 p.m. slot is a very important time for people on the West coast who enjoy watching Dobbs at 8 pm after getting home from a hard day's work and a long commute (there are a few people on my mailing list that still have jobs!).

Is Jon Klein just plain stupid, or is he caving into the corporatists who want to put a muzzle on Dobbs?

two-hour special edition of CNN's "NewsNight With Aaron Brown" that has been running late weeknights will continue for the time being. "NewsNight: State of Emergency" features longtime CNN anchor Brown as well as CNN anchor and correspondent Anderson Cooper reporting from the Gulf Coast. It runs from 10 p.m.-midnight weeknights, replacing the formerly one-hour "NewsNight" and the 11 p.m. repeat of "Lou Dobbs Tonight." CNN executives said Thursday that "NewsNight" will remain two hours for the foreseeable future, though the network declined comment on whether it was permanent. Cooper also is the anchor of "Anderson Cooper 360?," which airs 7-8 p.m. ET weeknights.
